How to prevent MirrorCoat drips from forming on the bottom of your table/bartop

The flow and level characteristics of MirrorCoat Epoxy make it exceptionally easy to apply to bar and tabletops. When poured on a horizontal surface at 4 ounces per square foot the epoxy will self-level to a dead flat clear finish.

Those same characteristics allow the epoxy to freely flow over the edge of the piece forming drips on the bottom edge. Once cured, these drips require a significant amount of work to remove.

To prevent these drips from forming, apply packing tape to the bottom outside edge of the piece. The drips that would form on the bottom of the piece will instead accumulate on the tape. After the epoxy has gelled and developed structure, the tape can easily be removed along with the drips that formed on the tape.
